Hola from Reynosa,
Things are going great - God is really working in our hearts as well as those of the people here. Thank you for your prayers. we are working with 2 churches - we are doing childrens and womens ministry at a church called "la Hermosa" (Beautiful) in the morning and childrens and open air ministry at a church ca lled "Cielos Abiertos" (open heavens ) in the evening. The boys are also doing ministry in the youth prison in the mornings.
We want to give praise that no one has gotten sick, we have been safe, and that things are going smoothly.

Were in a beautiful house with air conditioning! It has been such a blessing. The couple that is loaning us their house had just received the keys to their brand new house the day we arrived and they felt the Lord saying to them to loan us their home. They havent lived there yet and they lent it to 29 strangers!! We feel so blessed. Its more than enough space for all of us and is within walking distance of the alliance church.

WE really feel God´s presence and people are responding to the gospel. We ve met so m any special people and the need s are great, and as always we feel so blessed by the people we are sharing with.
WE miss you all an dfeel you close to our hearts.

Please pray for pastor Mendez and his wife who have sacrificed so much for their ministry, pray for midian, a girl whose mom abandoned her as a baby and who has just showed up in her life again this week, pray for Karla as she readjusts to life in Reynosa and for her familys´ salvation, pray for the teens in jail who have given their life to christ and are being baptized today and pray for the women who have suffered abuse who are taking steps for healing and pray for the children who are coming to the Lord at a young age that they may be lights in their families.

with love,
SWAM team 2008

Es verdad - no hay nadie como El - es todopoderoso, es grande y majestuoso, y yo le alabare!
What a great God we serve!
I look forward to hearing from each one of you as to what God has shown you through your experience(s) in Mexico. Make a point of asking God to help you see those things He's trying to teach you, and then share them with others so that we can all be blessed and encouraged by it!
To our faithful and trustworthy God be all the glory!

You have echoed my very thoughts this morning - I can't believe it's the last day of ministry! For you all, it was shortened by the long travel time, and for me by an early departure. A new year, a different year, different challenges, but full of blessings, full of friendships, full of seeing God's hand orchestrate our steps.

Kevin - this website is chevere! Thanks so much for putting it together. I still don't know what to use the password for - if there's something I'm missing would you explain it to me on my new e-mail address?!

My love and saludos to all!

Krista,

Very excited to hear how the women's ministry is going. It's very encouraging that the ministry is well received and effective among the indigenous women there. I will pray for the new converts and that the Holy Spirit will continue to open hearts.

His ways are so much greater than ours! It's so amazing to see that even though you all have spent a long time preparing and planning for this week, that from the time you all took off in those planes HIS plan went into effect and your plans went on the shelf. Praise HIS plans!

Laura, Cassidy, and all the VBS SWAMMERS,

It's all about the heart, isn't it? May your hearts be continually touched, by Christ, team, and those to whom you are ministering. It is for Him!

Praise God for the rain!!! I kept thinking and praying for you guys this morning wondering exactly what prison ministry looks like.....sounds like the Holy Spirit has been at work preparing hearts for the harvest - and you guys have been blessed to witness it! Romans 8:28. :-)

This afternoon I was blessed myself by a gorgeous bouquet of flowers that arrived, and it had an equally beautiful message with it! You guys have touched my heart more than words can express........Thank you!!!

My prayers are with you all constantly - I keep looking at my watch and thinking about what you must be doing. Stay encouraged as God is doing amazing things! May this week give each of you some awesome standing stones for your lives!

Love you all and miss you!

Krista (and women's ministry SWAMMERS),
I was so glad to read your "report"! I think the first time I read it, it was about midnight and I was very tired! I pray that the last day of woman's ministry (tomorrow) will be very very special and full of the Holy Spirit - that you will be able to say 'goodbye' knowing that the women have been encouraged in the Lord and spurred on to love Him with their whole hearts and minds and strength! May they be encouraged to share Christ with others, too. I pray for you all for keen spiritual discernment to know "who", "what words", "how", and "when" to bring Jesus' ministry alive in Reynosa!
